AI is supposed to trigger the next industrial revolution, changing the ways we work and arrange our lives. With a human at the core, the modifications of the major contexts inevitably call forth the discussions not only of the role of the people, but their discussions of the attitudes towards themselves, the quality of life and expectancies on the possible life span and health. The foundation of this search for the ‘new people’ in the new technological environment is the field of health.

With promises of a vibrant future, we observe that the technology is going to be inserted into a well-established ‘old’ ways and rules and demonstrates that AI can only enhance the positive as well as negative facets of modernity. The sphere of human health turned out to be the driver for the brightest ideas, ranging from the life extension project to dreams on cyber enhancement of the people. The AI changes the understanding of the roles such as patients and doctors with the challenge of dealing with a prognosis not with a diagnosis.

This course suggests approaches to understanding the faster-then-ever changing health sphere that requires the understanding of the modern person that has to live in the world shaped by artificial intelligent technologies.
